Caroline Rance
Nicola has had a life-long passion for writing and the power of storytelling. After a law degree and a stint as a high-flying solicitor in the City, she escaped that cut-throat world and retrained as an English teacher. She later went on to gain an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and now supports individuals, students and businesses as a coach and tutor. Her Substack, The Stories We Live By, combines her love of creativity with her love of psychology, and looks at how stories influence everything from global politics to family dynamics. Her poetry collection, On with the Show, Is available on Kindle now.
Caroline is a freelance copywriter and editor who wanted to be a vet but ended up with a degree in English and History instead. She specialised in the history of medicine and got an MA with the long-winded title of Medicine, Science and Society: Historical and Philosophical Perspectives. Her website, The Quack Doctor, looks at history’s commercial remedies and health fraudsters, and her 2015 book of the same title will soon be reissued. On Substack, she writes about the more general history of medicine – though often gravitates back to the quackery side! She has also written a novel, Kill-Grief, and has appeared in TV and radio including Best Medicine, A House Through Time and Great British Railway Journeys.
